"Save a Loaf a Week"

"Save a Loaf a Week" reads this food conservation poster from the US Food Administration that was created during World War 1. The subheading reads "Help win the war." Posters like this were widely distributed during the great war. The goal was to encourage American civilians to conserve food consumption so that more could be sent to the war effort in Europe. The artwork depicts a hand cutting a slice of bread from a loaf. The original artwork was done by artist Frederic Cooper. The poster was originally published in 1917. A great gift for any war history aficionado! I digitally restore the raw scans of these 100+ year old posters and make them much more suitable for printing, but I do my best to keep them as close to original as possible.
