This is a high-detail, museum-quality replica of a 53mm/5.3cm German Gruson shell for the 5.3cm Fahrpanzer; a goofy little one-man armored turret that would usually be mounted on a small gauge railway or on a mobile cart during World War One. These replicas are cast in a soli, hard resin with 0.00% curing shrinkage. This replica comes from a REAL and rare WW1 artifact shell which I molded with the commercial vacuum and pressure chambers that I have access to at my workplace, giving me the ability to capture every small detail. WAY more detail than you'd ever get from 3D printing. - Makes an awesome conversation piece, gift to a history/ww1 buff, movie/theatre prop, or display in your empty brass case, you're lucky enough to own one! ((brass casing in photos is not included))
Finishes:
Unpainted = The replica would be in the light gray color of the resin.
Painted = I will paint the replica to look like the real artifact. I design and fabricate exhibits for museums and zoos as a career, so this will truly be a professional paint job. Then the shell will be clear coated in a matte finish for protection. **Custom paint jobs can be requested.
Size: The replica is approximately 6" tall and 2in" in diameter and weights a bit over 1lb of solid resin.
NOTE - If you plan on displaying this projectile seated into a real brass casing from the war, please understand that the mouths of the shells are often misshapen as well as the Germans crimped their brass on to projectiles. You may need to open/expand your brass in order to receive this replica without a lot of damage. Also, the paint (if that finish was chosen) will almost inevitably get scratched up on the parts that go into the brass case.
