"First in France" reads this recruitment poster from the US Marine Corps that was created during World War 1. The subheading reads "Marines" in bold red letters Posters like this were widely distributed during the Great War. The artwork depicts a Marine rushing over the top with a Lewis machine gun in hand. Other men and their bayonets can be seen in the trench in the background as well as the American flag. The original artwork was done by artist John A Coughlin. The poster was originally published in 1917. A great gift for any Marine or war history aficionado! I digitally restore the raw scans of these 100+ year old posters and make them much more suitable for printing, but I do my best to keep them as close to original as possible. The original posters were approximately 20" x 30" NOTE: This listing is just for the poster reprint and is not framed. It will come rolled in a shipping tube.
