"Save the Products of the Land" reads this food conservation poster from the US Food Administration that was created during World War 1. The subheading reads "Eat more fish - they feed themselves." Posters like this were widely distributed during the great war. The goal was to encourage American civilians to consume more food products that didn't require work and labour to produce, as many of the farmers and factory workers were deployed to war in Europe. Much of the food was sent along with them too. The artwork depicts several native fish species swimming among aquatic vegetation. The original artwork was done by artist Charles Livingston Bull. The poster was originally published in 1917. A great gift for any war history aficionado! I digitally restore the raw scans of these 100+ year old posters and make them much more suitable for printing, but I do my best to keep them as close to original as possible. The original posters were approximately 20" x 30" NOTE: This listing is just for the poster reprint and is not framed. It will come rolled in a shipping tube.
