"The Tidal Wave" reads this propaganda poster from the US Shipping Board Emergency Fleet Corporation that was created during World War 1. The subheading reads "July 4 1918 95 Ships Launched". The US Shipping Board, sometimes referred to as "the War Shipping Board" was made to acquire and operate merchant ships to meet the needs of the United States after war was declared. Posters like this were widely distributed during the Great War. The artwork depicts a row of ships crashing through the waves with images of fighting soldiers in their smoke clouds, as well as an eagle in the foreground. The original artwork was done by artist Joseph Clement Coll. The poster was originally published in 1918. A great gift for any sailor or war history aficionado! I digitally restore the raw scans of these 100+ year old posters and make them much more suitable for printing, but I do my best to keep them as close to original as possible. The original posters were approximately 20" x 30" NOTE: This listing is just for the poster reprint and is not framed. It will come rolled in a shipping tube.
