"U.S. Official War Pictures" reads this recruitment poster from the US Division of Films that was created during World War 1. Posters like this were widely distributed during the Great War and this one was meant to promote the motion pictures made about the war. Motion pictures were still quite new at that time and were a powerful tool for steering public opinion and pushing the government's desired narrative. The artwork depicts a cameraman wearing a U.S. doughboy helmet and using a hand-operation motion picture camera. The artwork was done by artist Louis D. Fancher. The poster was originally published in 1917. A great gift for any film or war history aficionado! I digitally restore the raw scans of these 100+ year old posters and make them much more suitable for printing, but I do my best to keep them as close to original as possible. The original of this poster was approximately 20in x 30in. NOTE: This listing is just for the poster reprint and is not framed. It will come rolled in a shipping tube.
