"WANTED 25000 Student Nurses"

"WANTED 25000 Student Nurses" reads this recruitment poster from the US Armed Forces that was created during World War 1. The subheading reads "U.S. Student Nurse Reserve. Enroll at the nearest recruiting station of the Woman's Committee of the Council of National Defense." Posters like this were widely distributed during the Great War and this one was meant to increase enlistment of student nurses to help on at the front. The artwork depicts a nurse looking right at the viewer while the silhouettes of soldiers are marching by in the back ground.. The artwork was done by artist Milton Herbert Bancroft. The poster was originally published in 1917. A great gift for any nurse or war history aficionado! I digitally restore the raw scans of these 100+ year old posters and make them much more suitable for printing, but I do my best to keep them as close to original as possible.
